ARK: The Animated Series is what you get when you adapt a survival video game where the main mechanics are 'kill dinosaurs, don't get killed by dinosaurs.' It's not trying to be Bluey.
The violence is severe—blood, brutal deaths, graphic animal kills—and multiple parent review sites are united in saying this is 14+ only. If your teen loves dark fantasy action and has played the game, they might enjoy it. But the 6.3 IMDb rating suggests it's not even particularly good at what it's trying to do.
This isn't family viewing. It's not enriching. It's a violent action spectacle that might scratch an itch for older teens into survival horror, but there are better shows out there that don't rely so heavily on gore for entertainment. If you're looking for dinosaur content, go watch Prehistoric Planet instead.
