An Offer From a Gentleman is a solid, steamy historical romance that hits all the right Cinderella beats. It's one of the better entries in the Bridgerton series because it actually acknowledges the massive gap between the wealthy elite and the people who serve them.

That said, don't let the 'Cinderella' pitch fool you—this isn't a bedtime story. It’s a 'mom-read' through and through. If your kid is asking for it because they saw the show on Netflix, just know the books are often even more explicit than the screen version.
