Along Came Polly is the kind of movie that lived on basic cable for a decade. It’s not 'good' by any critical standard—the 27% Rotten Tomatoes score is earned—but it’s a functional piece of cringe-comedy.
If you’re watching it in 2026, you’re doing it for nostalgia or because you’ve already seen every other rom-com on Netflix. It’s dated, the jokes are hit-or-miss, but Philip Seymour Hoffman’s performance is genuinely legendary and almost justifies the runtime on its own.
