All Rise is what happens when you take a standard CBS legal procedural and give it a conscience. It’s polished, fast-paced, and deeply idealistic. While it follows the 'case of the week' format, it uses those cases to poke at the ribs of the American legal system, asking if justice is actually possible in a machine built for efficiency.
It’s a great pick for a teen who likes a good argument or is curious about the law. It isn't 'preachy' in a way that feels like a lecture, but it definitely has a point of view. It’s far more engaging and thoughtful than your average Law & Order marathon.
