Let's be real: this movie is a dud. With a 30% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 4.9 on IMDb, it's not just parents who think this sequel missed the mark - critics and audiences universally panned it. The premise (a parrot who thinks he's a Rottweiler!) sounds cute but the execution is lifeless.
It's safe, sure - no content concerns for young viewers. But safe doesn't mean good. The jokes fall flat, the story is predictable even for a kids' movie, and the early-2000s live-action-plus-CGI aesthetic has aged like milk. Your kids might sit through it once if they're really into dogs, but don't expect them to ask for a rewatch.
There are dozens of better family movies on Disney+ that are just as safe but actually entertaining. Unless you've literally exhausted every other option, skip this one.
