Wish is Disney doing what Disney does—pretty animation, positive messages about courage and community, a plucky heroine, and a cuddly sidekick. It's perfectly safe, reasonably wholesome, and hits the expected beats.
The problem? It's also pretty forgettable. That 6.3 rating tells the story: it's fine. Kids will probably enjoy it while it's on, absorb some decent lessons about standing up for what's right, and then... move on. It's not going to become anyone's comfort rewatch or spark deep family discussions.
For intentional parents, it checks the boxes—no content concerns, positive themes, age-appropriate conflict. But it's also not going to enrich your kid's life in a meaningful way beyond 95 minutes of pleasant entertainment. Think of it as a perfectly adequate babysitter: does the job, no complaints, but you're not raving about it at school pickup.
