Walk the Line is a well-crafted, well-acted biopic that doesn't pull punches about Johnny Cash's demons. Phoenix and Witherspoon are excellent, the music is great, and if you're into biographical dramas, this delivers.
But let's be clear: this is not family movie night material. It's a serious, adult story about addiction, infidelity, and the long road to getting your life together. The PG-13 rating is generous—this feels more like a hard PG-13 that flirts with R territory in terms of thematic weight.
For mature teens (15+) interested in music history or biographical films, it's enriching and well worth watching. For adults, it's a solid drama with great performances. But younger kids? Hard pass. Save this one for when they're ready to handle heavy, real-world consequences and complicated adult relationships.
