Look, Veep is objectively excellent television—the writing is razor-sharp, the performances are stellar, and if you're into political satire, it's some of the best ever made. Julia Louis-Dreyfus won six consecutive Emmys for a reason.
But let's be crystal clear: this is not family content. Not even close. Every character is a narcissistic monster, the profanity is constant and creative, and the entire show is built on people being terrible to each other. That's the comedy.
For adults? It's enriching in that it offers genuine insight into political dysfunction and media manipulation while being genuinely hilarious. For kids? Hard pass. The low WISE score reflects that this is adult-only content that models zero wholesome behavior—and that's fine! Not everything needs to be for kids.
If you're a politically-engaged adult who enjoys dark comedy and can handle relentless cynicism, Veep is absolutely worth your time. If you're looking for something to watch with your family or anything remotely uplifting, keep scrolling.
