If your kid is cycling through Percy Jackson or Doctor Who and needs a fresh fantasy fix, The Librarians: The Next Chapter fills the slot nicely. The setup is simple: a time-displaced guardian accidentally blows open a museum's vault of magic, then recruits a modern team to help him retrieve the loose artifacts across the country.

It isn't prestige TV—the visual effects are budget-conscious and the plot beats follow a classic cable-procedural pattern—but it hits a comfortable sweet spot for middle schoolers. You get historical lore, lighthearted banter, and weekly monster-hunting without graphic violence or heavy teenage angst.

For a low-stress family weeknight show, it delivers exactly what it promises on the box.
