Look, The Ice Road isn't offensively bad—it's just aggressively mediocre. Liam Neeson does his thing, trucks drive on ice, things go wrong, people fight, the end. The problem is that even the target audience (action-movie fans) largely rejected it, with a dismal 31% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes and a 2.4/5 on Letterboxd.
From a WISE perspective, it's fine-ish: no sexual content, the violence is standard action-movie fare, and there's a basic heroism message. But it brings nothing imaginative or enriching to the table, and the entertainment value is questionable at best.
If your 13-year-old is bored on a Saturday and has already watched everything else on Netflix, sure, they could do worse. But you're not missing anything if you skip it, and there are dozens of better action movies that would score higher on every WISE metric while actually being, you know, watchable.
