The Ark is a bit of a 'guilty pleasure' sci-fi. It’s not going to win any Emmys for its dialogue or its special effects, but it has that addictive Syfy channel energy that makes you want to see how they escape the next disaster.
It’s a solid choice for a family with a middle-schooler who has outgrown Star Wars but isn't quite ready for the grit of The Expanse. It’s clean enough for most households but dramatic enough to keep a 14-year-old from checking their phone every five seconds. Just don't expect a masterpiece.
