Look, Spectre isn't terrible—it's just aggressively mediocre, which might be worse for a Bond film. After the heights of Skyfall, this feels like a contractual obligation: all the expensive ingredients are there (exotic locations! car chases! explosions!), but the recipe is stale.
The critics and audiences agree: it's fine but forgettable. At 148 minutes, it's way too long, and the attempt to tie all the Craig-era films together with a "Blofeld was behind everything!" retcon feels forced rather than clever. Christoph Waltz is wasted as a villain who should be terrifying but mostly just... talks.
For parents: this is 100% not family viewing. Standard Bond violence, sex, and martinis throughout. For older teens who are into spy movies, sure, but honestly? They'd have a better time with Mission: Impossible or even the earlier Craig Bonds. This one's skippable unless you're a completist.
