Skatebird is one of those games where you absolutely love the pitch—tiny birds shredding on household items!—but the reality is a lot less fun. The controls are reportedly frustrating, the physics feel off, and that 61/100 rating tells you what you need to know about how it actually plays.
The bigger surprise? The soundtrack somehow contains explicit enough lyrics to earn a Teen rating, which is wild for a game about cute birds doing kickflips. If you want the wholesome version, hunt down the Luna Edition (rated E).
It's a charming idea from an indie studio, and there's something to appreciate about its weirdness. But unless your kid is really into skateboarding games and has the patience for janky mechanics, this is more 'neat concept' than 'must-play.' The novelty of being a bird on a skateboard wears off fast when you're fighting the controls.
