Sasaki and Miyano: Graduation isn't really a standalone movie. It's a 60-minute victory lap for fans who watched the 12-episode anime series on Crunchyroll and wanted to see the main couple actually date before high school ends. If your kid hasn't seen the show, start there; otherwise they'll be dropped into the middle of a train-platform conversation with zero context.
If they are already in this world, this is about as wholesome and emotionally grounded as teen romance gets. The Boy's Love (BL) anime genre can sometimes veer into melodrama or questionable power dynamics, but Sasaki and Miyano is famous for being the exact opposite: soft, patient, and borderline obsessed with healthy boundaries. The biggest conflict in the entire runtime is Sasaki trying to study for his college entrance exams without falling asleep at the kotatsu, and Miyano worrying he's distracting him.
