On paper, the premise sounds like bottom-of-the-barrel light-novel mad libs: guy gets hit by a car, turns into a telekinetic blade, adopts a cat-eared slave girl. In execution, it sidesteps the sleaze that plagues modern isekai and turns into a surprisingly earnest guardian-and-kid adventure.
The draw is the dynamic. The sword (dubbed 'Teacher') functions as an overprotective helicopter parent who happens to shoot fireballs, obsess over balanced meals, and buff Fran's stats while letting her make her own choices in the arena. Fran is stoic, food-obsessed, and entirely focused on freeing herself from generational shame.
The catch is the gore. This is not a Saturday morning cartoon. Throats get cut, limbs fly off, and the early slave-trader scenes are genuinely ugly. It fits best with middle schoolers and up who already watch shonen battle anime and just want snappy dungeon fights without awkward fan service.
