Raft is a solid survival-crafting game that hits the sweet spot between challenging and accessible. The core loop—hook floating debris, craft stuff, expand your raft, fend off sharks—is genuinely engaging and encourages creative problem-solving.
The big caveat: this is the mobile Android port, not the beloved PC/console version that parents are raving about on Steam and Reddit. Mobile ports of premium games often come with monetization baggage—ads, IAP, energy systems—that can sour the experience. Without clear info on pricing or monetization model, approach with caution.
If you can get the PC version instead (Steam, often on sale), do that. It's the real deal with no nonsense. But if mobile is your only option and it's reasonably priced or a one-time purchase, the gameplay itself is worthwhile. Just be ready to toggle on peaceful mode for younger or more sensitive kids—that shark is persistent.
