Let's be direct: Project X is not good, and it's definitely not for kids or teens.
This 2012 found-footage comedy wants to be an edgy, wild ride but ends up being a shallow showcase of every bad decision teenagers could make, presented as if it's all hilarious and worth it for the story. The entire 88-minute runtime is essentially: party gets bigger, more drugs, more nudity, more destruction, rinse and repeat.
The film has virtually no redeeming qualities from a developmental perspective. It doesn't model healthy behavior, doesn't offer consequences that match the actions, and treats women as props. The 'protagonists' are selfish and reckless, and the movie's conclusion suggests their viral fame makes it all worthwhile.
Even as adult entertainment, it's mediocre at best—the found-footage gimmick wears thin quickly, and the shock value is the only thing it has going for it. The 6.9 TMDB rating suggests some people found it entertaining, but that doesn't make it worth your time or appropriate for anyone in your household under 17.
If you're looking for teen comedies that are actually funny and don't glorify terrible behavior, literally dozens of better options exist. Skip this one.
