Look, there are at least four better Pinocchio adaptations you could watch instead of this 2002 version. The 1940 Disney classic is gorgeous (if a bit intense), the 1996 live-action has charm, and the 2022 Guillermo del Toro version is stunning (though darker).
This particular adaptation seems to have vanished into obscurity for good reason - no major platform carries it, no critical consensus exists, and that 5.8 audience rating tells you everything. It's not unsafe or problematic, just... forgettable and kind of boring.
If your kid is doing a Pinocchio unit at school or is obsessed with collecting every version of the story, sure, track this down. Otherwise, your family movie night deserves better. The core story about honesty and becoming real is timeless, but this telling doesn't do it justice.
