The scene every parent already knows by heart
The goat is gone, the fence is dead, and the water in the glasses is rippling. LEGO picked the exact minute of Jurassic Park that made 1993 audiences grip an armrest and rebuilt it 23 inches wide: torn cables, warning signs, a flare for Grant, and a quote tile on the base that reads “Boy, do I hate being right all the time.”
The full 23-inch diorama: T. rex over the flipped Explorer at left, the intact tour car and Ian Malcolm at right.
Two Explorers, one bad night
The intact tour car hides the movie’s most famous shot inside: two water glasses, printed mid-ripple, on the dash. The second Explorer builds crushed and wheels-up in the mud, and the T. rex’s foot pins it exactly like the frame from the film. Grant, Malcolm, Lex, and Tim come mud-spattered, with night-vision goggles for Tim and a rattled alternate face for Malcolm. The designers left the goat chain in and skipped the goat.
The brick-built T. rex is the argument
This is not the smooth molded dinosaur from the kids’ LEGO Jurassic World sets. It is built from bricks, poses at the joints, and looks angular up close. Jay’s Brick Blog rated the set 5 out of 5 and still preferred the molded rex; True North Bricks landed at 82% and called the feet oversized. Nobody disputed the scene.
The back of the box: 23 inches wide, 6 inches tall, next to the movie frame it recreates.
Retired, so do the math before you fall in love
It sold for $99.99, sold out within 24 hours of its April 2022 launch, and LEGO has since retired it. Copies now run about $130 and climb. Near retail, it is the obvious gift for a household that loves the movie. At collector prices, the kids’ Jurassic World sets deliver more dinosaur per dollar, molded rex included. Either way, the movie question comes first: our parent’s guide to Jurassic Park covers when a kid is ready for the film this set is quoting.
