Is this show related to The Walking Dead?

No. Despite the similar 'Dead' naming convention, this is an independent, low-budget production with no connection to the AMC franchise.

How much gore is actually in this?

While it's a smaller production, the premise of 'devouring' suggests cannibalistic violence that is likely too intense for anyone sensitive to blood or body horror.

Where can I even watch this?

It has very limited availability on major streaming platforms. It occasionally pops up on free, ad-supported services (FAST channels), which usually means it lacks any robust parental controls.

Is there any educational value to the 'survival' aspect?

Not really. This is a horror show designed for shocks, not a survivalist handbook. If you want survival skills, stick to Alone or Survivorman.

Screenwise Verdict

This is a hard pass. Feel The Dead is a 2018 zombie show that seems to have vanished into the bargain bin of streaming history for a reason. With an IMDb rating of 3.6, you're looking at a project that likely suffers from bad writing, wooden acting, and questionable special effects.

The 'zombies' here are described as crazed cannibals devouring people. It's derivative, grim, and lacks the polish or heart of something like The Walking Dead or the creative spark of Train to Busan. Unless you are a zombie genre scholar who needs to see every single piece of media ever made about the undead, your time is better spent elsewhere.

Age Fit

This is strictly for older teens and adults who have a high tolerance for gore and low-budget horror. It's not for kids, and frankly, most adults will find it too poorly made to bother with.

WISE Breakdown

Wholesome

The premise centers on 'crazies' attacking and devouring people like wild beasts. It is the antithesis of wholesome content, focusing on panic and visceral survival.

Imaginative

Standard zombie apocalypse tropes. There is little evidence of world-building or creative twists that haven't been done better elsewhere.

Safe

Descriptions of cannibalistic violence and 'devouring' suggest significant gore. The 3.6 IMDb rating often correlates with 'shock value' over substance in the horror genre.

Enriching

Low production value and poor critical reception suggest this is more about cheap thrills than exploring deep themes of humanity or survival ethics.

Parent Info

✓

Why It Might Be Great

Zombie completionists might find it interesting as a deep-cut entry in the genre.
International setting provides a slightly different backdrop than the typical American-suburbia zombie outbreak.
Family survival focus puts the stakes on a small, relatable unit rather than a military or superhero response.

⚠

What to Watch For

Visceral gore is baked into the premise, with people being 'devoured' by attackers.
Bottom-tier quality reflected in the 3.6 IMDb rating means the acting and effects are likely to be distracting or unintentionally funny.
Intense panic and nihilistic themes are common in these low-budget horror exports.

Conversation Starters

"If we were on vacation and things went sideways, what's our family's designated meeting spot?"
"Why do zombie stories always focus on the breakdown of society instead of people helping each other?"
"What makes a horror movie 'good' versus just 'gross'?"

Deep Dive

The Zombie Saturation Point

By 2018, the world was already drowning in zombie media. To stand out, a show needed a massive budget, a huge IP, or a completely fresh take on the 'infection' mechanic. Feel The Dead appears to have none of those. It follows the most basic blueprint imaginable: a family on vacation, a mysterious outbreak, and a desperate flight for survival.

When a show lands a 3.6 on IMDb, it's usually a signal of 'technical friction.' This means the sound might be poorly mixed, the lighting might make it hard to see the action, or the dialogue is so clunky it pulls you out of the experience. For parents looking for a family-friendly horror experience, this isn't it. For parents looking for a high-quality thriller to watch after the kids are in bed, this still isn't it.

If your teen is begging for a survival story, point them toward the first season of The Walking Dead or the The Last of Us series. Those shows actually have something to say about family and humanity. Feel The Dead just seems interested in watching people get eaten in a foreign locale. Skip the frustration and pick something with a rating that isn't in the basement.
