Look, I want to be diplomatic here, but that 3.7/10 rating tells you everything you need to know. This show took one of the most beloved science educators of the '90s and turned him into a preachy talk-show host who lectures rather than educates.
The original Bill Nye series worked because it was genuinely curious, fun, and made science accessible through hands-on demonstrations and infectious enthusiasm. This reboot replaces all that with panel discussions, celebrity guests, and a condescending tone that alienated even viewers who agreed with its scientific positions.
The infamous 'My Sex Junk' musical segment became a viral embarrassment that perfectly encapsulates the show's problems: it's trying to be edgy and relevant but comes off as cringe-inducing and counterproductive. Even if you want your teens learning about climate science or vaccines, there are dozens of better-executed options (Cosmos, Our Planet, even good YouTube channels).
The show is technically safe in terms of violence or scary content, but it's not appropriate for younger kids due to adult themes, and it's too poorly executed to recommend for older kids. If you're nostalgic for Bill Nye, just rewatch the original series—it holds up way better than this misfire.
