Wreckfest is a competent demolition racing game that does exactly what it says on the tin: you race, you smash, cars crumple into beautiful wreckage. The physics engine is legitimately impressive and the lack of predatory monetization is refreshing in 2025.
That said, it's not breaking new ground. The career mode is repetitive, the multiplayer is fun but can devolve into chaotic bumper cars, and the game is starting to feel a bit dated seven years post-release. The crash violence is over-the-top enough to be clearly unrealistic, but young kids might still find the ragdolling drivers unsettling.
If your teen likes racing games and wants something more visceral than Mario Kart but less serious than Gran Turismo, this hits the sweet spot. Just know you're getting solid B-tier entertainment, not a genre-defining masterpiece.
