World Trigger is the 'thinking person's' battle anime. It trades the typical 'power of friendship' outbursts for actual logic, resource management, and squad-based tactics. It’s refreshing to see a show where the protagonist is—and remains—physically weaker than his peers, forcing him to become a master of the system just to survive.
Parents should know that while the first season has some 2014-era animation stiffness and slow pacing, the payoff in Season 2 and 3 is massive. It’s a safe, smart, and highly imaginative series that treats its audience like they have a brain. If your kid is into competitive gaming or strategy, this will likely be their new obsession.
