Unique Learning System (ULS) is the heavy-hitter of the special education world. It’s not an app you’d download for fun on a Saturday, but for kids who find the general curriculum a brick wall, ULS is the bridge. It breaks down complex topics into three distinct levels of support, so a student who uses a communication board and a student who reads independently can both learn about the same topics at the same time.
That said, it’s very much 'school software.' It can be dry, and if it's used as a babysitter rather than a teaching tool, it turns into a lot of mindless clicking. It's best when it's part of a mix of hands-on work and digital practice, rather than the whole day.
