Unicorn Academy is perfectly fine—and that's both its strength and its limitation.
It's safe, colorful, and hits all the expected beats of a kids' fantasy show: magical creatures, friendship lessons, a big bad to defeat. Your 6-year-old will probably enjoy it, and you won't cringe when it's on in the background. The modest ratings (6.7 on IMDb, 3.2 on Letterboxd) tell the real story: it's competent but forgettable.
This is the kind of show that fills a slot in the Netflix queue without making much of an impression either way. It's not going to rot anyone's brain, but it's also not going to spark creativity or deep conversations. Think of it as the television equivalent of a plain bagel—perfectly acceptable, does the job, but nobody's getting excited about it.
If your kid is in their unicorn phase and you need something safe to throw on, this works. Just don't expect it to become anyone's favorite show or even be remembered six months from now.
