This is a solid, sweet, beautifully animated half-hour that does exactly what it sets out to do: bring a beloved picture book to screen without dumbing it down or amping it up. It's gentle without being boring, teaches without being preachy, and gives kids a little adventure without any nightmare fuel.
The Donaldson-Scheffler adaptations (Gruffalo, Room on the Broom, etc.) are consistently high-quality, and this is no exception. The rhyming text, the watercolor-style animation, and the genuine warmth make it great for family movie time with littles.
That said, it's not going to blow anyone's mind—it's a 30-minute adaptation of a picture book, so temper expectations. It's enriching in the way a really good bedtime story is enriching: it opens a window, plants a seed, and makes kids feel good. If you're looking for something truly safe and wholesome for the preschool/early elementary crowd, this absolutely delivers.
