If you are looking for Stranger Things nostalgia, keep walking. The Shards is set to be a brutal, stylish, and deeply cynical descent into 1981 Los Angeles. It is Bret Easton Ellis returning to his Less Than Zero roots but with a slasher-movie twist that adds a layer of genuine terror to the usual rich-kid ennui.
This is a 'parental guidance' situation in the sense that you should probably guide your kids away from the TV entirely while this is on. It's high-art trash in the best way possible—beautiful to look at, but morally and physically ugly in its content.
