Look, this show tried something different and deserves credit for that. But the execution just didn't land.
The 2015 Muppets reboot asked: what if we took these beloved, anarchic, musical characters and trapped them in a mockumentary workplace sitcom? The answer turned out to be: not great, actually. The show got cancelled after one season because audiences—both kids and adults—weren't feeling it.
The 'adult' angle is overblown marketing speak. There's nothing inappropriate here, just more relationship drama and workplace tension than classic Muppets. But that shift in tone strips away a lot of what made the Muppets special: the joy, the music, the controlled chaos, the heart.
If your kids are Muppet fans, they'll probably watch an episode or two out of curiosity. But this isn't appointment viewing, and honestly, you're better off showing them The Muppet Show reruns or the 2011 movie. This reboot is a curiosity, not a classic.
