The Door is a moody, German-language thriller that asks a terrifying question: what would you do to get a dead loved one back? Mads Mikkelsen is excellent as a father who finds a portal to the past, but the movie quickly ditches the 'miracle' vibe for something much darker and more claustrophobic.
It’s a solid pick for fans of cerebral sci-fi like Dark or Coherence, but it’s definitely not a casual watch. The opening scene involving a child’s death is a massive trigger and sets a bleak tone that never really lifts. If you're looking for a feel-good time-travel romp, keep walking.
