This is the superhero team-up that started it all, and honestly? It still works. The Avengers delivers exactly what it promises: witty banter, impressive action, and a surprisingly coherent story given how many characters are juggling for screen time.
The teamwork angle is genuinely wholesome - watching these oversized egos learn to cooperate feels earned, not preachy. Your kids will probably quote Hulk smashing Loki for weeks. The action violence is what you'd expect from Marvel: lots of punching aliens, explosions, and property destruction, but nothing graphic or gory.
The main watchout is Agent Coulson's death, which genuinely lands emotionally and might surprise younger viewers. It's handled tastefully but it's real.
At 143 minutes, it's a commitment, but unlike some MCU entries, this one doesn't drag. If your family is MCU-curious or already invested, this is still one of the franchise's strongest entries. It launched a cultural phenomenon for good reason - it's just really well-made popcorn entertainment with heart.
