Look, it's a new Christmas movie on Netflix, and sometimes that's all you need during the holiday season when you've watched Elf seventeen times already. The reviews are solidly middle-of-the-road—not amazing, not terrible—which translates to 'your kids will probably enjoy it and you won't hate your life while it's on.'
It's wholesome, it's safe, it's got Santa and a snowstorm and presumably some heartwarming lessons about community. It's also pretty forgettable and not particularly creative based on the lukewarm critical reception. But for ages 5-9 during December? This will do the job just fine.
Think of it as the streaming equivalent of a store-brand candy cane—perfectly adequate, serves its purpose, but nobody's writing home about it.
