Look, That '90s Show is what happens when Netflix sees a beloved property and thinks 'let's do that again but with different kids.' It's not offensively bad, but it's aggressively fine.
The critics were kinder than audiences (81% vs 72% on RT), but that 6.3 IMDb score tells the real story—it's watchable but forgettable. The original That '70s Show worked because it captured something genuine about teenage aimlessness and friendship; this one feels like it's going through the motions with a '90s Spotify playlist in the background.
For families, it's a tough sell. It's too mature for younger kids (the whole premise is teens getting into trouble), but older teens who might be age-appropriate probably won't care—they're watching Euphoria or Stranger Things, not a sanitized sitcom about their parents' decade. The real audience is nostalgic adults, and even they seem lukewarm about it.
If you're desperate for family sitcom content and your teens are 14+, it won't hurt anyone. But there's so much better stuff out there that actually has something to say.
