Tayasui Sketches is legitimately one of the better digital art apps out there—the brushes are gorgeous, the watercolor effect is shockingly realistic, and there's no social garbage or ads to worry about. It's a real creative tool.
The catch? The subscription model is annoying. You'll get the free version, your kid will immediately want the premium brushes, and you'll be staring at a weekly or yearly auto-renewing subscription. Manage it carefully or you'll forget and get charged forever.
Also, it's buggy. Multiple reviews mention crashes when importing images, which is frustrating when your kid is mid-masterpiece. But if your child is genuinely into digital art—not just doodling for five minutes—this is a solid investment. It teaches real techniques and builds actual skills.
Just maybe skip it if your kid's "art phase" lasts about as long as their interest in learning ukulele.
