If you want a Superman story that doesn't feel like a homework assignment or a dark, gritty reboot where everyone is miserable, this is it. Geoff Johns and Gary Frank nailed the vibe—it’s hopeful, it’s bright, and the art is basically a high-budget movie on paper.
It covers the whole arc: the awkward Smallville years, the first flight, and the move to Metropolis. It’s not revolutionary in terms of plot—we all know he comes from Krypton—but the execution is so clean it doesn't matter. It’s a solid win for any family library and a great way to introduce a kid to why Superman actually matters.
