Storks is the animated equivalent of a perfectly adequate Tuesday night dinner—nobody's complaining, but nobody's writing home about it either. It takes a fun premise (corporate storks! baby-making machines!) and delivers exactly what you'd expect: slapstick, heart, and a message about family that lands without being preachy.
The 2016 release date means it's contemporary enough that the animation and pacing won't feel ancient to modern kids, unlike trying to get them to sit through something from the '90s. It's safe, it's colorful, and it'll keep the under-10 crowd entertained for 86 minutes.
That said, this isn't going to be anyone's favorite movie. It's fine. It's forgettable-fine. The kind of thing that works great on a rainy afternoon or a long car ride, but you're not going to be quoting it at dinner or dressing up as characters for Halloween. If you're looking for something genuinely enriching or imaginative, reach for something with more ambition. But if you need a reliable, safe, mildly funny option that won't make you want to leave the room? Storks delivers (pun absolutely intended).
