Spyder is exactly what you want when you're tired of every game trying to sell your kid something or hook them into endless loops. It's a straightforward puzzle game with a fun premise—you're a tiny robot spider sabotaging villains with gadgets—and it respects both your kid's intelligence and your wallet.
The puzzle-solving is solid if not groundbreaking, and the lack of violence makes it genuinely appropriate for younger players who can handle the problem-solving. The biggest limitation is availability (iOS only, 2020 release from Sumo Digital) and replayability—once the puzzles are solved, there's not much reason to return.
It's a good pick for kids who like brain-teasers and spy themes, but don't expect it to compete with big-budget titles. Think of it as a nice palate cleanser between more intense games.
