This is the Spider-Man game people waited decades for, and Insomniac absolutely delivered. The web-swinging alone justifies the price of admission—it's fluid, intuitive, and makes you feel like you're starring in your own superhero movie.
The story hits harder than expected, with real emotional stakes and characters who feel three-dimensional. Yes, there are some intense moments (particularly in the third act), but they're handled with care and serve the narrative rather than being gratuitous.
From a parent perspective, this is about as clean as AAA gaming gets. No loot boxes, no battle passes, no pestering kids to spend more money. Just a complete, polished experience that respects your time. The violence is comic-book style—enemies get knocked out, not killed—and blood is minimal.
The age question is tricky because official ratings say 13-16, but tons of parents report their 8-10 year olds playing and loving it. Know your kid. If they've watched the MCU Spider-Man movies and handled them fine, this is probably okay. If they're sensitive to peril or character deaths, maybe wait a bit.
Bottom line: This is one of the best superhero games ever made, and it holds up beautifully even years later. If you've got a teen or tween who loves Spider-Man, this is a no-brainer.
