Shimajiro is the 'polite' show. If you're looking for something that won't overstimulate your kid before naptime, this is a top-tier choice. It’s the Japanese equivalent of Daniel Tiger, focusing heavily on social scripts, manners, and being a 'big kid.'
It isn't as funny or layered as Bluey, and the 2012 animation style feels a little dated in 2026, but its heart is in exactly the right place. It’s safe, sweet, and intentional.
