Let's be real: Secret Invasion is a slog. With a 43% audience score and a dismal 1.9/5 on Letterboxd, this isn't just critics being snobby—regular viewers found it boring too.
The show had potential. Shapeshifting aliens infiltrating Earth, Nick Fury coming out of retirement, themes about refugees and belonging—these are solid building blocks. But the execution is painfully slow, the plot meanders, and even Samuel L. Jackson can't save uninspired writing.

If your family is deep into Marvel lore and needs every piece of the puzzle, fine, put it on. But if you're looking for quality family viewing time or something actually enriching? Skip this one. There are dozens of better Marvel entries, and life's too short for mediocre streaming content your kid will scroll through their phone during anyway.
