Look, this is a genuinely good show. Rian Johnson knows how to craft a mystery, Natasha Lyonne is perfect as the scrappy, road-worn Charlie, and the inverted detective format is refreshing. It's smart, well-acted, and critics rightfully praised it.
But let's be crystal clear: this is not remotely appropriate for kids or even most teens. The TV-MA rating isn't window dressing—there's graphic violence, relentless profanity, and some genuinely disturbing content including references to child sexual abuse. Common Sense Media saying 15+ feels wildly optimistic.
For adults who miss the days of Columbo but want something with modern sensibilities and sharper edges? This is great. For family viewing or even most high schoolers? Hard pass. Save this one for after the kids are in bed.
