Pete the Cat is exactly what it promises to be: safe, sweet, slow-paced preschool content that teaches emotional regulation and friendship skills without any bells, whistles, or concerning elements. If you have a 3-5 year old who loves the books, this is a solid screen time choice.
That said, it's not going to blow anyone's mind. The animation is fine, the lessons are gentle and repetitive (by design), and the entertainment value is strictly in the preschool zone. This isn't Bluey-level clever or engaging for adults, but it's not trying to be. It's Pete being groovy and teaching kids to chill out when things go wrong.
The biggest limitation is age range—this has a narrow window of appeal. By first grade, most kids will find it too babyish, even if they were obsessed with Pete at 4. But for that sweet spot of preschool to kindergarten? It's a solid, wholesome choice that won't make you want to throw the remote out the window.
