Panchatanthiram is quite possibly the peak of Tamil buddy comedies. It’s chaotic, irreverent, and incredibly dense with jokes. Even though it's over two decades old, the humor hasn't aged a day because it relies on character dynamics and sharp writing rather than pop culture references.
For parents, the 'watch out' is the premise. We're talking about a group of middle-aged men trying to cover up an encounter with a sex worker and a body they think they killed. It's handled with a 'Weekend at Bernie's' level of absurdity, but if you're looking for something wholesome and moral, this isn't it. If you're looking for a laugh-until-you-cry family movie night with older kids, this is the gold standard.
