Let's be crystal clear: Omegle (and this Omega copycat) is not safe for kids, full stop.
The original Omegle shut down in 2023 after years of documented abuse, predatory behavior, and lawsuits. This app appears to be trading on that name, offering the same dangerous premise: unmoderated video chat with random strangers.
Common Sense Media, Internet Matters, and every reputable child safety organization says the same thing: this is for adults only, and even then it's questionable. Parents report frequent sexual content, nudity, predators, and bots. There's no real age verification, so a 12-year-old can be matched with a 40-year-old stranger.
If you find this on your kid's phone, delete it immediately and have a serious conversation about online safety. This isn't helicopter parenting—this is basic protection from documented harm.
