Look, I'll be straight with you: a 2.9 out of 5 on Letterboxd is rough. That's 'we turned this off after 20 minutes' territory. The premise—zombie zoo animals, unlikely animal heroes—has potential for silly fun, but the execution appears to miss the mark completely.
The zombie-virus angle means this isn't a gentle animal adventure; expect scary imagery, violence, and potentially gross-out moments that could genuinely frighten younger kids or those sensitive to horror elements. At the same time, the poor reviews suggest it won't be scary enough to thrill older kids or well-made enough to entertain anyone.
If your kid is deep in a zombie phase and has already exhausted better options, maybe throw this on a rainy afternoon with low expectations. Otherwise, there are dozens of better animated animal adventures that won't leave everyone wondering why you just spent 90 minutes on that.
