NFL Blitz is a time capsule—a relic from the arcade era when sports games prioritized fun over realism. It's loud, fast, and gloriously stupid, with none of the modern baggage (no microtransactions, no online toxicity, no battle passes). Just pick a team and go wild.
That said, it's old. The graphics are blocky, the controls feel stiff by 2025 standards, and kids raised on Fortnite or Rocket League may bounce off it hard. It's more of a 'hey, this is what Dad played in middle school' curiosity than a must-play.
If you've got a nostalgic parent and a curious kid willing to meet in the middle, it's a decent couch co-op session. But don't expect it to hold attention the way modern games do. It's junk food—tasty in the moment, forgotten by tomorrow.
