Look, NCAA Football '98 is perfectly safe and wholesome—it's just football with none of the garbage that plagues modern games. No microtransactions, no battle passes, no toxic online lobbies. Just you, a controller, and some very pixelated college athletes.
But let's be real: this game came out when Hanson's "MMMBop" was topping the charts, and it shows. The graphics are rough, the gameplay is clunky, and unless your kid has a specific interest in retro gaming or is using this for some kind of video game history project, they're going to boot it up once and ask why the players look like walking rectangles.
If you want college football for your kids, track down a copy of NCAA Football 14 (the last one made before the series ended). If you want to teach Dynasty mode strategy and team building, modern Madden or even Football Manager does it better. This one's a museum piece, not a recommendation.
