LEGO finally boarded the Going Merry
Twenty-five years of One Piece, and 2025 was the year it got bricks. LEGO built the line with Netflix around the live-action show's first season and launched it on August 1, 2025: Windmill Village, Buggy's circus tent, Arlong Park, the 3,402-piece Baratie, and the ship that matters, the Going Merry.
The flagship: 1,376 pieces, box age 10+, Luffy perched on the ram figurehead.
The Going Merry is the one to buy
$139.99 gets 1,376 pieces, the ram figurehead, the straw-hat Jolly Roger on the mainsail, and an interior with a crew cabin, kitchen, and a workshop for Usopp's projects. Amazon buyers put it at 4.9 stars across 1,300-plus reviews. A 10-year-old with a mid-size set behind them runs it solo over a weekend; a younger fan tag-teams it with you, which is the better way to build it anyway.
The first official Straw Hat minifigures: Luffy, Zoro, Nami, Usopp, and Sanji.
The set is the easy call. The show is the real one.
A kid who builds Luffy wants to watch Luffy. The sets take their look from Netflix's live-action One Piece, rated TV-14, and the deeper pool is the anime, which starts as a playful pirate romp and picks up real violence across its 1,100-plus episodes. The bricks are fine at any age. The screen decision is the one to make on purpose, and our Season 2 guide covers what Netflix ships next.
Where the money goes farthest
At ten cents a piece with five exclusive minifigures, the Going Merry is fair for a licensed flagship. The $29.99 Windmill Village Hut (299 pieces, box age 8+) is the low-risk test of whether your builder cares. The $329.99 Baratie is for the household that already quotes Sanji. And the Season 2 wave, with Chopper, Drum Castle, a brick-built Gum-Gum Fruit, and Garp's 1,705-piece battleship, lands August 1, 2026, all boxed 9+.
