Legends of Andor is a well-designed cooperative fantasy game that does a lot right—beautiful presentation, genuine teamwork, strategic depth without overwhelming complexity. It won a major award for good reason.
But here's the reality: it's not sticky. Multiple reviews point to the same issue—kids play it a few times and then reach for something else. The narrative scenarios are nice, but apparently not compelling enough to create that 'one more game!' feeling. At three players it works best, which is an awkward number for many families.
It's a solid choice if you want a cooperative fantasy adventure for a few family game nights, especially if your kids are in that 10-12 sweet spot. Just don't expect it to become the game they ask for every weekend. Think of it as a good movie you watch once or twice, not the one you quote for years.
