Job Simulator nails what it set out to do: be a fun, accessible VR introduction that doesn't scare or overwhelm kids. It's genuinely funny, completely safe, and lets kids mess around in virtual workplaces without consequences—want to microwave a stapler or throw food at customers? Go for it.
The problem is longevity. This was a VR launch title in 2016, and while it was groundbreaking then, it feels basic now. You've got four jobs, maybe 2-3 hours of content total, and once you've exhausted the novelty of VR physics interactions, there's not much pulling you back. The graphics and mechanics are dated, and kids raised on Roblox or Minecraft will find it pretty limited.
That said, if you've got a VR headset and a kid who's never tried VR, this is still one of the best first experiences out there. It's wholesome, intuitive, and actually makes them laugh. Just know you're buying a short, sweet introduction rather than a game with legs. Think of it as the VR equivalent of Wii Sports—perfect for showing someone what the medium can do, less perfect as your daily driver.
