JJ+E (a remake of the 90s classic Vinterviken) is a solid, if slightly predictable, teen romance that uses the 'wrong side of the tracks' setup to talk about modern Sweden. It’s not going to win any awards for originality, but it’s a decent watch for families with older teens who want something a bit more substantial than a typical American rom-com.
The movie is at its best when it's looking at the friction between the two worlds, but it occasionally leans too hard into the crime-drama elements to keep the plot moving. It’s a 'middle of the road' recommendation—not a must-watch, but definitely not a waste of time if your teen is into grounded romance.
